The Homegoing Service for A Man Named Jesus is a Gospel Musical Dramedy. Hundreds have heard about the ministry, singing, comedy, sold out performances, and more and have come to see if for themselves! Written by Playwright Ursula V. Battle and Directed by Dr. Gregory Branch, this powerful modern-day depiction tells the story of some of Jesus’ many miracles as told by those whose lives were forever changed by them.
Performances at Huber Community Life Center Good Friday 2023 and 2024 and most recently at Set The Captives Free Outreach Center in Baltimore April 28, 2024 have drawn capacity crowds!
The Disciples, The Woman at The Well, The Woman with The Issue of Blood, Mary, Martha and Lazarus of Bethany, Nicodemus, and others are among the unforgettable characters sharing their stories during a funeral service being held after the crucifixion at The Glorious Congregation of The Gospel of Jesus Christ Upon This Rock Church of The Redeemed Tabernacle. The cast includes the Rev. Dr. Carl Solomon of United Baptist Church (Apostle Peter), Unified Voices of Johns Hopkins, Lenny Stepney, Jr. (Apostle John) Tanya Brown-Iyesi (Martha of Bethany), soloists Randy “Fruity” Roberts, C.C. Bowen, Mortician Carlton C. Douglass, owner of Carlton C. Douglass Funeral Home, WEAA 88'.9 Gospel Grace's Ernestine Jones (The Tambourine Lady) and many more.
